About Us

Carolinas Concert Association, formerly known as Charlotte Community Concert Association, celebrates its 78th anniversary in the 2007-2008 season.  We were the first organization to present a performing arts series in Charlotte.

Carolinas Concert Association’s Mission is to sponsor, promote and present concerts featuring world-renowned performing artists and to sponsor education opportunities, which encourage an understanding and appreciation for the performing arts.

Concerts (known as the Crown Jewels Series) presented by Carolinas Concert Association include symphony orchestras, dance companies, soloists and small instrumental ensembles.  In addition to our Crown Jewels Series, the Association holds Master Classes, Open Company Classes, Lectures and Previews by classical musicians and world-renowned artists for area students as part of our growing Education Outreach Program.

We are governed by a 33 member Board of Directors, aided by two Emeritus Directors and an advisory board.  This governing group oversees the selection of artists, the financial development, the promotion of the concert series and special events, and the outreach of our educational programs.  We employ an Executive Director and Executive Assistant.

Carolinas Concert Association takes pride in presenting premier classical performing artists.  Today, new resources are needed to ensure that the cost of attending the concerts will not exceed the reach of the general public and that we will continue to provide educational opportunities through the arts to the youth in our community.
